Khadcheri, or Chenrezig, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion. He shows love and care for all, promising to guide them to wisdom. The two hands, which are joined at the level of the heart, shows Chenrezig’s peace and respect for all. Khadcheri is also a form of bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. According to one legend, Chenrezig had a thousand arms and eyes to help and see all who suffer. One day, after seeing the vast suffering of the world, he vowed to help every single being.
However, his efforts were so intense that his arms and eyes began to fall apart. Seeing this, Avalokiteshvara was granted new arms and eyes by the Buddha, allowing him to continue his compassionate work. This story shows that compassion and effort can overcome anything, and help is always there. A Chenrezig statue brings love, peace, and kindness, reminding you to stay caring every day.
