Saptalochan Tara also known as White Tara is a female bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, known for her compassion, wisdom, and long life. White Tara is linked to motherly kindness and healing. She is shown with eyes on her hands, feet, and forehand, symbolizing her ability to see those in pain and help them. She is also called “Tara of the Seven Eyes”, a version of the goddess that is popular in Mongolia. The statue shows the eyes in her palms, with her right hand facing outward to grant her follower’s wishes.
She is linked to practices that help extend life to continue following the Dharma and move closer to spiritual fulfillment. She is known for healing, and keeping her image at home is said to protect the house from illness, harm, and bad energy.
