As the In Vajrayana Buddhism, Vinayaka is workshipped as a god Vinayaka. As the Buddhist god Vinaka, he is often shown dancing. This form, called Nṛtta Vinayaka was popular in northern India, later adopted in Nepal, and then in Tibet. In Nepal, the Hindu form of Ganesha, known as Heramba, is popular; he has five heads and rides a lion. Vinayaka have different forms, this form of vinayaka has 12 arms and his is standing on his vahana moosika(Mouse).

In Hindu Religion, Vinayaka(Ganesha) is popularly held to be the son of Shiva and Parvati, the Puranic texts give different versions about his birth. In some he was created by Parvati or by Shiva or created by Shiva and Parvati,  in another he appeared mysteriously and was discovered by Shiva and Parvati or he was born from the elephant headed goddess Malini after she drank Parvati's bath water that had been thrown in the river.
