Tara is known as the Mother of Mercy and Compassion. Green Tara is associated with compassion and wisdom, and reciting her mantra helps us develop these qualities. It is believed to help practitioners achieve their goals and fulfill their wishes, particularly if those goals are aligned with the principles of compassion and wisdom. Green Tara holds a blue lotus or the utpala flower clasped between her thumb and ring finger, with the three raised fingers symbolising the three jewels in Buddhism

The Green Tara mantra, Om tare tuttare ture swaha, is one of the most commonly recited in Tibetan Buddhism and is used as a veil of protection as practitioners face physical or emotional challenges. Her story and practices first emerged in India fifteen hundred years ago.
