Tara Represents the entire enlightened activities of all buddha has and hence she is call mother of the buddhas of three times. There are 21 forms of Tara. Arya tara is one of them. Arya Tara appears as young beautiful maiden. Her body is green in colour. She has one face and two arms, she wears a crown bedecked with five buddha images. She wears all kinds of boddhisattava ornaments studded with jewels and celestial garments of varied colour. She sits on a lotus throne in lalita attitude in half Lotus posture. Her lefthand shows the gesture of refuse vows and right hand thevarada mudra.
The Green Tara mantra, Om tare tuttare ture swaha, is one of the most commonly recited in Tibetan Buddhism and is used as a veil of protection as practitioners face physical or emotional challenges. Her story and practices first emerged in India fifteen hundred years ago.
